Two unfortunate kids growin' up, without a smartphone

Once they had the latest, from the Apple Store

I'm about to tell you why, they ain't got 'em no more

Suckin’ down gigabytes of data each day

Simone tripled my phone bill

with no way to pay

Zackie stayed in his room

hadn’t seen him in weeks

Couldn’t make him come out

I tried several techniques, say a,

even though their cute, devices are gone, say a,

When they unplugged, their brains turned back on

We rock on

Simone sits back

reflects her thoughts for a moment

fluffs her hair

Well you know, Zach

we oughta run off to the city

But without Uber

we just can’t get a lift

Daddy said,

even after our precious iphones are gone

he thinks we should clean, or mown the lawn

First it kinda stunk

missed their shows

couldn’t Instagram

or watch cat videos 

Then something shifted, in their attitudes

soon we noticed them laughing

and improving their moods
